Baguley to Manchester Airport

Baguley is located right in the City of Manchester only about 8 minutes from the Manchester Airport. Baguley is a part of the Manchester City district of Wythenshawe.

Besides Baguley, the region of Wythenshawe encases the localities of Benchill, Peel Hall, Newall Green, Woodhouse Park, Moss Nook, Sharston, Northern Moor and Northenden.

One of the buildings of great architectural significance located in the area is Baguley Hall. It was built out of timber in the 14th Century. Arched doorways and timber braces in the form of St. Andrew’s crosses are two of its unique characteristics. It is documented as being a Baguley family estate.

Several significant historical structures in the above-mentioned areas are still standing. Wythenshawe Hall is one of them. It is located East of Altrincham and south of Stretford. It was owned at one time by the Tatton family.

A section of railway is still open in Baguley. It runs from this location to Manchester, Stockport, and Chester. It offers public transport as well as shipment of goods. A proposal is in place to possibly extend this line to Metro link.
