Delph and Denshaw, Oldham to Manchester Airport
Delph is in the Metropolitan Borough of Oldham. It is about 36 minutes from the Manchester Airport.
It is south of the village of Denshaw and it sits on the River Tames among the hills of the Pennines. The population is approximately 2,000. This is one area that still has remained in tact from the time of the Industrial Revolution.
Even today textile industries still thrive in the area. These plants have been providing employment for persons living in the area for over a century.
A significant geographical area north of Delph is Castleshaw Valley. Bakestone quarries have been dug in this location.
Events that occur in Delph include White Friday celebrations and brass band contests.

Denshaw to Manchester Airport
Denshaw is located in the Metropolitan Borough of Oldham. It is located about 35 minutes from the Manchester Airport, and is just north of Delph.
Denshaw residents along with 75 other communities participate in annual brass band contests. It was established in 1993 and attracted 25 bands the first year and attracts more contestants every year.
Denshaw is about 18.4 miles from the Manchester City Centre. It is also very close to the River Tame and it sits amongst the southern portion of the Pennines. The land on the outer boundaries of this area is mainly grassland and heath (open, low growing, woody vegetation).
Other small localities relative to Denshaw include Denshaw Fold, Cherry Clough, Old Tame, Slackcote and Grains Bar. Famous landmarks in Denshaw include the following sites and buildings: Christ Church, Church of England, Anglican Diocese of Manchester, and Denshaw's War Memorial.
The village of Denshaw is known for its temperate climate, as is most British Isles locations. Visitors and locals enjoy relatively cool summers and mild winters here.
Even though Denshaw is in the Greater Manchester Area, it is not part of the Greater Manchester Urban Area. It is not contiguous to other local settlements.
