Fishpool to Manchester Airport

Fishpool is located south of the town centre of Bury, and is about a 29-minute drive from Manchester Airport. Wellington Road borders Fishpool to the North and Manchester Road borders it to the west.

To the south of Fishpool Gigg Lane is located, and Market Street lies to the east. During the 1800s Fishpool was known as Piano Town since many families in this area owned pianos in their homes.

Garden terraced housing is characteristic of the residential homes built in this location. St. Chad’s Junior School is one of the major landmarks of the area. Fishpool Infants School used to be located in this area, but it was torn down recently.

Fishpool is home to shops lined along Parkshills Road. This town also is home to several takeaway restaurants as well as a co-op store.
