Another local landmark located here is the front of the Tatton Cinema. It was built in the 1930s and was closed in 2001. A much large cinema, Parrs Cinema is located only two miles from the former Tatton.

Gatley is home to a local music festival. It is run by a non-profit group to raise money for local charities. At this festival there is a variety of different types of music such as jazz, brass, choral, indie, and rock are featured. This event takes place in March of each year.

This suburb is also known for its local playing fields. William Scholes Playing Fields, which is near the border to Manchester at the Gatley Hill House entrance. Cricket and football matches are the sporting events most often scheduled here.
