Rochdale is a borough of Greater Manchester located in North West England. The largest town in the Metropolitan Borough of Rochdale bears the same name (Rochdale).OUR Minibuses and taxi services are always ready for you when you need them.

The town of Rochdale is one of the towns located on the foothills of the Pennines. It is situated on the River Roch.

One of the significant landmarks of this area still visible is the Parish Church of St. Chad. It sits on a hill that overlooks the Town Hall. Parts of the church were built during Norman Times-during the mid to late 11th Century.

This area also has its own unique War Memorial and historic Town Hall. Both of these are kept up and preserved effectively.

Middleton-One of the towns that sits on the River Irk is Middleton. It has a total population of over 45,500 people and it is located only 8.2 km to the city of Manchester.

The Church of St. Leonard is one of the oldest of ancient architecture that still stands. The “Flodden Window” built into the church is considered one of the oldest war memorials in England. Another significant area of interest is the Old Bear’s Head Inn, which sits below the Parish Church on Long Street.

The Tongue Hall was also of great importance in this area for a long time. However it was destroyed by arson activity in 2007.

Heywood-Another area of Rochdale includes this town. It used to be a major mill town during the Industrial Revolution and it sits near Middleton and Bury.

Places of interest in Heywood include the spectacular geographical formation of the Ashworth Valley. Queens Park is also another major area of interest currently undergoing major re-construction. The plan is to preserve the Victorian flavor of this district.

Another location of interest-at least until 2007-was the Corgi Heritage Centre. Year after year this centre attracted visitors from all around the world who traveled to see valuable collectible models. The future of this model museum is currently unknown.

Littleborough-Right on the River Roch and The Rochdale Canal sits the town of Littleborough. Hollingworth Lake was built to provide as a reservoir of water supply to the area canal.

Plenty of recreational water activity takes place on this lake. Furthermore, visitors often frequent the local country park and nature reserve.

Littleborough is also inundated with signs of historical architecture. For instance, a number of churches and civic buildings still stand in this town. Furthermore, a notable person who was raised in this town is Agyness Deyn, a famous English Model.

Castleton-On the western end of Hope Valley lies this village. It is situated on the Peakshole Water, which is a tributary of the River Noe.

This area attracts a large number of tourists every year-not only because of the waters but because of the many pubs and tea shops. Other reasons that visitors come to this area is to visit the “smelly pencil shops” and to enjoy peaceful area accommodated living.

A large car park, youth hostel, and information centre are also located in Castleton. A building of great local historical interest still standing is the Peveril Castle. It can be seen clearly from the skyline at a distance.

Additionally, Peak, Blue John, Speedwell, and Treak Cliff Caverns are still visited quite frequently. Blue John, a local mineral is still found in limited supply yet today in this area.

Milnrow-Located North of Shaw and Crompton is Milnrow. It sits along the River Beal. It is also located right next to the Junction 21 at the M62 motorway. Newhey is located on the southern border of this town.

A notable poet known as John Collier (a.k.a. Tim Robbin) came from this town. The tone of his work was very caricaturist and satirical in nature. Lizzy Bardsley who appeared on Wife Swap also came from Wilnrow.

Famous Wilnrow landmarks include the Ellenroad Engine House where the “Victoria and Alexandra steam cotton mill engines are maintained, and the Odgen Reservoir. The Hollingworth Lake is also quite close, and visitors frequent this body of water on a regular basis.

Wardle-South of the Watergrove Reservoir is where Wardle is located. It used to be a part of the parish of Hundersfield. Sir Roderick Wardle, JP and descendents are some of the most well-known people who originated from this location.

This village is also known for its church that has now been turned into an apartment complex. Additionally, several pubs and local shops are visited quite frequently in this area. The primary school and high school in the area are noted for academic excellence, but more so are brass bands.
